Urban Decay Theodora Palette Review!

When Urban Decay decided to come out with two makeup palettes for the movie OZ: The Great and Powerful I knew I had to purchase at least one of them. The first palette which I didn’t end up purchasing is the Glinda palette. The reason behind me not purchasing that palette is because I’m a big fan of dark eyeshadows and I felt that the Glinda palette lacked those types of color and they were a little to light and shear for my taste, it also comes with a 24/7 eyeliner in the color Rockstar and a lipstick in the color Glinda. The Theodora palette caught my eye right away with the dark browns in the palette, you also get a 24/7 eyeliner in the color Zero and a lipstick in Theodora. I love dark browns more than black because it gives you the chance to have a wonderful smokey eye without being too dramatic and gothic.

Today I’ll be talking about the Theodora palette because it’s the one I know most about since it’s the palette I chose to purchase. First off, the packaging; I love the mix of dark colors swirled around on the whole palette it gives it great uniqueness and authenticity. The palette itself keeps itself closed very well, some palettes have a tendency to ware to where the palette doesn’t close as tightly as it use to. So far the palette stays put. I also like that the palette is a ‘build your own’ palette, meaning if you go traveling or want a palette in your makeup bag you can pick out certain eyeshadows from Urban Decay and place them into the slots. The eyeshadows that come with the palette stay in their spots very well, they don’t easily pop out with tiny force. I also enjoy the thickness of the whole palette, making it more secure and less likely to break at anytime when being moved around in a bag or box.

Next I’ll talk about the lovely eyeshadows in this palette.

Broken: A pale cream satin. It’s a great color for highlighting, especially the brow-bone and inner eye corners. It’s very soft and goes on very evenly.

Beware: A warm dark brown matte. This color to me seems to have a hint of copper as it’s blended onto the eyelid. I really like it for an everyday eyeshadow.

Bewitch: A charcoal brown satin. This is probably one of my favorite eyeshadows in this palette to create a dark smokey look, it’s perfect for all over the eyelid when you’re wanting to add a bit more depth.

West: A deep metallic brown. This color to me comes off as a dark brownish/purple color full of shimmer. This is a great color that doesn’t need intense packing on, one tap of the brush into this color should be enough for the full color payoff. I really like this color for the outer-v of your eye to give a more sultry and smokey look.

Spell: This eyeshadow pan contains two colors; a satin black with green and gold shimmer. The other eyeshadow is a bright gold full of glitter.

Jealous: Another eyeshadow pan with two colors; a very pale green and a pearly dark green.

The lipstick that comes with this palette is Theodora, it is a Super Saturated High Gloss Lip Color. The color is a very nice red. You can be sheer with this color so it’s very toned down or go for a full red lip bold and beautiful.

The eyeliner that comes with this palette is Zero, a 24/7 glide-on eye pencil. This is a very nice black, it doesn’t come onto your eye as dark as I would like, but it’s a very nice eyeliner that stays put all day.
