Summers Finally Here!

Everyone’s always excited for summer time! But I think everyone forgets about how hot the sun is and what it can really do to your skin if you don’t protect yourself. Hanging out by the pool, river and beach can be awesome and is always an antidote for cooling yourself off, just remember that the water can’t protect your skin from sun damage.       The number one thing that should be in your beach bag is; Sunscreen! The higher the SPF the better, from 30 and up. Always remember to reapply your sunscreen even if the bottle says it lasts all day, you never want to take chances with the health of your skin. The sun doesn’t only cause tans, wrinkles and sunburn but it always causes cancer. The best place to put sunscreen is all over, but if you aren’t feeling the need to then place it where the sun often hits you first; ears, nose, shoulders, arms and back. Preventing a sunburn is a lot easier and better than trying to heal a sunburn, but if you happen to get a little burnt always have aloe vera handy. Rub it gently on the infected areas every couple of hours to help sooth the pain.       If you’re one who has to wear face makeup during the summer, even though it’s just going to melt off or wear off if you get into the water go out and get yourself a tinted moisturizer with an SPF in it. Tinted moisturizers don’t have a ton of coverage but they give you some coverage and a lot of help from the sun. There are so many brands that make them, if you don’t plan on wearing a tinted moisturizer everyday go for a drugstore brand because those aren’t too pricey. If you want more high end and plan on wearing a tinted moisturizer almost everyday then go for a department brand, such as; Urban Decay, Benefit, Mac, Clinique, Too Faced, Laura Mercier and so much more. I personally have tried only two tinted moisturizers; Too Faced and Urban Decay. I really liked the Urban Decay one until they discontinued it, so I switched to the Too Faced one. I like the amount of coverage I get with this one and best of all it has an SPF of 20. I highly recommend a tinted moisturizer for the summer heat.       The next thing that’s always a necessity for the summer is; sunglasses. It doesn’t matter if you need fancy, expensive sunglasses or cheap sunglasses from the drugstore or target. The sun doesn’t only damage your skin, but always your eyes. So keep them protected!       Last but not least; water. Drink a ton of it, it keeps you hydrated and cooled off throughout the day. It keeps heatstroke and un-comfort away, and it’s the easiest way to keep yourself safe and healthy!
