Summer Travel Essentials

   It’s Summer! Do you guys know what that means?…. It means…TRAVEL TIME. I don’t know about you but I don’t really loveeeeee Summer, why? Because it’s too damn hot. I overheat and dehydrate faster than the normal person, sucks I know.. But I still loving having the chance to explore and go places in the beautiful sunshine. With that said, let’s talk about those travel essentials you definitely need in this heat, and in general!

Tote: I usually take short trips, which thankfully doesn’t require a suitcase. So I use my well loved, and free with purchase: Victoria’s Secret Collapsible Duffle. It’s big enough for at least 3 outfits, all my makeup and bathroom essentials.

Protect: It’s summer, and that requires SPF. Don’t pretend that you don’t “need” it, you do! If you’re a lucky tanner, and you don’t burn like the rest of us… you still need to protect your skin from bad sun rays. I love the Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Sunscreen Spray in SPF 75. It’s so easy to apply, and it doesn’t smell bad, or feel sticky and gross.

Sunglasses are so important. Your eyes need the same amount of protection that your skin does from the sun! I have the Muse x Hilary Duff Stevie Sunglasses from Glassesusa.com. I have the prescription version, and I love them!

Hydrate: So many people, even me…forget to hydrate throughout the day. So I always have my Klean Kanteen 20oz Water Bottle with me. It’s summer, which means high 90’s most days, so wherever you travel to, you want that water with you! Plus using a reusable water bottle helps the planet! And saves sooo much money.

Clothing: Layers aren’t your friend in your summer travels. I know you want to look super cute, but you can succeed with that by simply wearing shorts and tank tops, or lightweight basic tees. And just accessories! Add some color and fun by wearing bracelets ( I love my Pura Vida Bracelets), and all the proceeds either go to charities or hard working artisans around the world. If you really want to layer, then I suggest a thin kimono/coverup’s. My favorites come from LulaRoe.

Extras: Here I’m going to talk about the little things…. Travel sized deodorant for your purse, I love my Secret Freshies Invisible Solids in Chill Ocean. This product is as small as an EOS Lip Balm, perfectly fits in your purse for extra freshness throughout the hot days. Plus this way you can save space in your tote!

Travel makeup/face wipes. I don’t wear much makeup on trips, so a small amount will do! They’re also perfect for wiping away excess oil and sweat from the hot days. I use the Clinique Take The Day Off Towelettes. The packaging is so thin, they fit almost anywhere in your tote!

Pill Case, sounds weird I know. But I often get headaches, especially when it’s really hot out. So I prefer a small pill case to hold my Advil and Tylonel, because buying travel sizes of each bottle gets pricey, especially when you have big bottles just sitting at home… I always have this in my purse.

Electronics: I don’t know about you, but my phone is often dying, because I use it too much… But when you’re traveling, you want to document as much as possible, but still take time to live in the moment! That being said, I ALWAYS have my Belkin Portable Charger, it’s my favorite travel accessory. And the charge lasts for days! It can also charge 2 phones at once.
