Saturday Reviews! Starlooks: Lip Pencil- Tickle Me Pink

In my October Ipsy bag I received a lip pencil. Something I have never bought before. Personally the reason behind that is, I’m a tinted lip balm type of girl, and not a lipstick/lip gloss wearer. But I knew that if a certain lip pencil was in my Ipsy bag, that it had to be worth trying! Starlooks Lip Pencil: Tickle Me Pink (k314)

As you can see in this picture (above), the lip pencil seems to be a very light, traditional pink. But the color you see is deceiving, in a good way! (Well in my opinion it is.) If you swatch it on your hand and place it right onto your lips, you’ll see that it comes out as a medium pink. I would describe the color as a light raspberry pink. This color to me seems light enough for fair skin tones, and dark enough to show up on darker skin tones!

When applying this for the first time on my lips, I found it extremely smooth and creamy. I didn’t have to worry about pulling tight on my lips just to get the liner on sharply. I also found that even though this product is very creamy, it also lasted for several hours, up until I wiped it off while eating. It didn’t smudge, nor did it move out of my lip line (didn’t feather out.)

This product gives me that “want” to go out and buy more lip liners! One of the number one benefits of lip liners is: they help your lipsticks last longer, and stay vibrant throughout the day. My test with this lip liner was matched with my favorite lipstick: Maybelline Color Whisper: Coral Ambition

Here’s them two put together!

I really like how these two colors automatically went together. Why is that great? Because I didn’t have to go out and buy a lipstick to go with my new lip liner!

Pro’s:

  1. Easy application

  2. Great color payoff

  3. Long lasting

  4. Perfect for all skin tones

  5. Size (2.4 Grams)

Con’s:

  1. Creamy (could cause easier breakage in the tube)

  2. Price ($12.00) that can be low to some, and high to others

  3. Online purchasing only, which means shipping costs when purchasing

  4. Slightly shiny, website says it’s matte (some people like matte finished lip liners the most)

All in all I think this is a great product, I’m glad I had the chance to test it out! This product comes in twenty-two different shades. I’m sure as I get more comfortable with lipsticks, I’ll be purchasing more lip liners from Starlooks!
