Saturday Reviews! Bella Pierre: Shimmer Powder

A few years ago me and my sister were accosted by women at a Kiosk for Bella Pierre Mineral Makeup. I’m not a big fan of being bothered by people that work at Kiosks by the mall, if I seem interested in what you’re selling I will come up to you myself. But I understand, that’s how you make a sale.      There was a promotion going on, buy one shimmer powder, get one free. My sister is the one who decided to buy them, I still wasn’t totally into makeup just yet. My sister told me I could pick any color I wanted, and of course I went for the brightest/unwearable color there (Resonance). A bright hot pink, full of shimmer. Sadly I just left in my single eye shadow case untouched. I rediscovered it the other day, I never gave it a chance. So I decided that a Saturday Reviews is a great excuse to really test it out.

I figured the only way to truly test out any makeup is not only swatch it, but apply it as a look. I used the Nyx Jumbo Pencil-Milk as my base on my lid because it lasted through washing my hand with hot water and soap. Plus if you use a sticky base with pigments you’ll get less fallout. 

I applied Resonance all over my lid, blended it out using Naked from the Urban Decay Naked Palette. Then I applied a highlight to my brow-bone: Virgin from the Urban Decay Naked Palette. I didn’t want the look I was creating to be flat, so I added a thin line of black gel liner: Maybelline EyeStudio Gel Liner. I wanted to keep this look as wearable as possible, but still show off the gorgeous color pay off, so I the only thing I did to my lower lash-line was add black mascara, along with my top lashes.

A lot of people might think that $14.99 is expensive, but the high pigmentation and smooth application makes it worth the price. I will definitely be purchasing more Shimmer Powders in the future.
