Princess Series: Mulan

“Who is that girl I see staring straight, back at me? Why is my reflection someone I don’t know? Somehow I cannot hide, who I am, though I’ve tried. When will my reflection show, who I am inside?…”

I wanted to start with the eyes like normal, but especially since my foundation will be so light, I don’t want to deal with any excess cleanup.

Starting with a primer, I applied TooFaced: Shadow Insurance all over the lid.

To get my eye shadow to stand out more and be the best color it can be, I applied NYX Cosmetics: Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk.

Next I used BH Cosmetics: Missy Lynn Eye Shadow & Baked Highligher Palette.

Using the middle purple from the second row, I applied it all over the lid, and up into the crease using a large shadow brush. And blended it out using a large fluffy brush.

Next for the eyes we needed to add a super thin, but long wing! Just how Mulan’s is in the picture.

Using Revlon: Colorstay Liquid Eye Pen in 01 (Blackest Black) start off by applying a very thin line along the upper lash line.

Now to create the wing, if you’re nervous about liner, you can use scotch tape as a guidance, or just go very slowly. Remember liquid liner takes practice!

In the middle, and even throughout the movie, it doesn’t look like Mulan has lashes or is even wearing any type of mascara. But whats an eye look without a little mascara?! So I applied my favorite; Benefit: Roller Lash Mascara.

And your eyes are complete!

Time for the iconic white-painted face!

Using my regular foundation: Maybelline: Fit Me Foundation in 115 (Ivory), and NYX Cosmetics: Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk, I mixed them together.

This created a very pasty white foundation color, perfect for this look! Using a buffing brush, I applied the foundation to only half of my face! Using a matte white shadow, or even a translucent one, set the foundation to keep it from slipping around.

To add that bold bright blush color, I used BH Cosmetics: Professional Blush Palette.

I applied the 4th blush in the second row to the palette.

Time to darken up those brows. In the picture, with and without makeup, Mulan has black eyebrows. Using a matte black shadow, and an angled eyebrow brush, apply it to your brow hairs, I kept my natural shape as best as I could.

Time to finish off the lips! I used the best reddest red I could find in my collection! Using Sephora: Cream Lip Stain in Always Red. I applied it to only have of my lips. Just like the picture.

This by far is my favorite Disney Princess inspired makeup look, it’s my first non-wearable princess look in my series!
