New Year, New Ipsy Bag!

First blog post of the New Year! I know I’ve neglected my blog for quite some time, I feel so bad. But it’s time to get back at it for the New Year! And the perfect post for the New Year is my January Ipsy Bag. As always, you get a cute little makeup/travel cosmetic bag to hold your goodies. This one is so simple, and so cute. I love it!

Time for the products!

Probelle: Nail Polish- Into the Blue (0502)

A beautiful periwinkle blue, perfect color to start fresh in the New Year, and to slowly transition us into the warmer months we’ll soon have. My biggest thing with all nail polish is how long it takes to dry, I’m a very impatient person, especially if I’m incapable of doing anything that requires very dry nails. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that this nail polish dries very quickly! I only tested it with one finger, and just one coat. Just to see how color payoff is with one coat. Color payoff isn’t great, you can easily see that the color you see in the bottle is what you get on your nails, but it’s pretty shear, so two coats is best.

Elizabeth Mott: Makeup Brush- All Over Shadow

Probably my all time favorite item to get in Ipsy Bags! I love new makeup brushes, mainly because I’m lazy when it comes to washing my brushes, so having a bunch of brushes means less cleaning, because I have so many to choose from. This is the perfect brush for packing on color, with that being said- I haven’t gotten to test it yet. But with how dense it feels and how soft it is, I think it will be great for that. I love the size too, not to big, so you can control the shadow on your lid without too much worry about the color going everywhere.

Pacifica: Natural Mineral Coconut Eye Shadow- Ethereal

I’ve lately been into more neutral colors, so getting this gorgeous champagne/sandy color is a great addition to my recent makeup looks. I immediately swatched it, it’s so soft! And decently pigmented, perfect for an all over lid color for those “bare faced” types of makeup looks. It has a decent amount of shimmer, but not too much like a disco ball, just enough to add some glow and shine to your eyes.

(Malin+Goetz): Mojito Lip Balm

Gotta say, this does smell just like a mojito! Sounds pretty tasty to me.. I’m not a big fan of getting lip balms in my Ipsy Bag, mainly because I always go for my Carmex, and nothing else works like it. But I decided to give it a try. It glides on your lips like butter, and feels amazing! But as I wore it till it totally started to sink in to my lips, I noticed it got pretty sticky as it started to dry up, kind of like lip gloss. And that was a big let down for me, because I want lip balm to be smooth until it’s completely gone, not uncomfortable.

JB Cosmetics: Lash Food

This lash food product states that you will see results of stronger, thicker, and longer lashes in just 4 weeks. So I will be doing that test and of course get back to you guys with the results and see if it holds up to what it says. So I’m excited to give it a try!

I hope you guys enjoyed, and I’ll be keeping up with my blog a lot more this year! 🙂
