My Updated Skincare Routine
I have sensitive skin, and let me tell you something…it’s so damn hard to find a collection of skincare products that haven’t caused my skin to react badly. Don’t get me wrong, I looovvveeeee trying new skincare products! BUT, my skin hates me when I do that.. So trust me when I tell you this: it might take a few years and tons of brands to discover what ingredients and brands work best for your skin type.
So obviously you didn’t just come here to hear about all my problems, you want to hear the glorious products I use on my face. So let’s get to it!
I always, always remove my makeup first before cleansing. Some people might think whatever product you use to remove your makeup also takes off dirt and impurities, like those lovely commercials that say you only need one product? Yeah that’s all a lie….I’m sorry but my face isn’t fully clean after using just ONE product.
Neutrogena: Cleansing Towelettes –Night Calming
I use these every single time I wear makeup, they take off almost all of my makeup. They’re decent sized and usually don’t dry out too fast.
Clinique: Rinse-off Foaming Cleanser
This. This product is the best cleanser I have ever used. You literally need a tiny amount, I thought the Clinique specialist at Ulta was exaggerating when she first told me that, and boy oh boy was she correct! Which means this product can last you for at least a year if you don’t use it every single day. It foams up nicely, and easily rinses off.
Clinique: Clarifying Lotion-1.0
I use this product right after drying off my face from cleansing. I apply it using a cotton round all over my face. Now remember earlier when I said commercials always say their makeup remover products remove everything and you don’t need anything else? Even after my cleanser step, I still see SOME makeup come off on the cotton round for my toner. So just remember, fully cleansing your face doesn’t mean you can get away with using one product.
Lush: Naked Face Oil-Banana Skin
I absolutely love Lush products, I could literally live in a bath tub with their bath bombs…but we’re talking about faces here. So when they first started coming out with more skincare products I got really excited! Not only is this product made from exceptional ingredients, it’s package free!
With my sensitivity, I was a little concerned about which oil would work best for me. The girl at Lush helped me tremendously pick out one that was right for me. I’m telling you right now, my skin has never felt softer, and more hydrated since before I started using this!
Sonia Kashuk: Jade Roller
I always thought these tools were a gimmick, something pretty to have on your bathroom vanity. Well for something with a lot of redness and sensitive skin, I thought I’d give it a try. I love the cooling effect it has (You can also put it in the freezer right before use). I’ve actually noticed less redness on my cheeks since I began using it. This is the tool I use right after I apply my Lush Oil, it helps penetrate the product deeper into my skin!
Clinique: Dramatically Different Moisturizing Cream
In high school I use to use the Dramatically different gel (I was oilier than), and I never had sensitivity to it. I figured the cream (now that I’m dryer) wouldn’t effect me either. And thank god it doesn’t! This cream is so hydrating and feels amazinggggg! It absorbs quickly, but not too quick. Because I definitely feel hydrated in the morning still, but never greasy.
*So tell me, what’s your go-to skincare products? I would love to know in the comments!*
