My Skin Care Routine
Luckily I’ve come from a line of good skin. Thanks to both parents, I have never had the struggle of bad acne. And I’m grateful for that. But eventually everyone has their own skin issues, and we all want to fix them any way we can. So today I’m going to let you in on my skin care routine.
My skin: Redness on my cheeks, and around my nose. Oily/Dry combination (my skin goes either way most of the time).
It can be difficult finding a routine right for you and your skin. You want something you can regularly afford, and products you can completely rely on. So before you go out and start purchasing skin care products, do some research, ask makeup artist’s and skin care expert’s their opinions. Figure out what you want to accomplish with your skin, and how far you’re willing to go to keep your skin looking and feeling healthy.
My routine:
If you’re a makeup wearer like me, you want to first take off as much makeup before fully cleansing your skin. For this I use; Neutrogena: Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes- Night Calming. These wipes are amazing, I’ve tried many different makeup removers, and this is the product that works the best for me, it’ll remove almost all my makeup, and hasn’t caused me any bad reactions.
Cleansing your skin each night/morning is very crucial. You want to remove any excess dirt, makeup, and oils off of your skin. This will help you from building up any dirt in your pores and keep your skin acne free! You want to pick a cleanser for your skin type, I have sensitive skin, so I found a cleanser that has calming ingredients. Yes To Blueberries: Foaming Facial Cleanser is my new found love for cleansing. Blueberries are a great antioxidant to add to your skin, and chamomile will keep your skin calm. I use this after I remove all of my makeup.
Toning time! Using a toner after cleansing will help you remove any excess oils and dirt that your cleanser may have missed, and it will help put back your PH balance. This is pretty much my holy grail, no matter what I change in my skin care routine, this product always remains the same. Clinique: Clarifying Lotion 2. Using a round cotton pad, apply this all over your face, and you don’t need too much. Just enough to thoroughly tone.
And now it’s time to moisturize. For nighttime after all my cleansing I use a very high moisturizing cream. Neutrogena: Deep Moisture Night Cream. My face feels so smooth and hydrated after using this product. I use this cream only at night, this way my skin can pull in all the moisture without anything blocking it.
For moisturizer during the day, I use Neutrogena: Oil Free Moisture with SPF:35. For any cream or lotion you use during the day you want an SPF in there somewhere, the sun is a number one cause of skin damage, and even skin cancer. So make sure to keep yourself protected! I apply this every morning before applying my makeup.
Extras:
Everyone always needs an extra boost in their skincare routine. A special mask, special tool of some kind. I have two. My first one is the Clarisonic Mia. I love this tool so much! It cleanses so deep, and removes all of my excess oil without using any special cleanser. If you’re looking for a product that will give you a strong cleanse, this would be perfect. You don’t use it everyday, because it also exfoliates your skin, and too much exfoliation can be bad. But as an extra treat to your skin its perfect.
I have larger pores than most, especially on my nose, so for a deep cleanse pore strips will be your best friend. Biore: Deep Cleansing Charcoal Pore Strips. These strips are awesome, and work so well, they draw out any dirt in your pores and pull out excess oils you may have. I use it only once a week, or every 2 weeks. But it’s always a nice little treat.
And that’s all for my skin care routine! My skin is so important to me, and it should be to you too! So keep it healthy and beautiful.
