My hair routine!

 Lately people have been asking me what products I use to make my hair look so healthy and shiny. Well the first real step to making your hair healthy is getting it trimmed regularly, I have to admit I’m not one of those people. I make up for that when I finally decide to go get my hair cut, I get a couple inches off to get all the split ends off so that my hair can grow faster and be healthier. To let you all know ahead of time, I have very thick hair, it’s very textured. 

 I’m going to start off with the tools I use first. 

My hair dryer is a; Chi Deep Brilliance Hair Dryer in the color Orange. It states on the description that it’s meant for “highly texturized hair”, which is what my hair is like. It also mentions that it will give your hair a shine from the ceramic heat and ionic technology. The Chi Deep Brilliance Hair dryer is very lightweight and quiet. I trust this brand and hair dryer very much, it’s the first one I’ve found in years that actually gets the job done. My hair isn’t frizzy with using this and it gets your hair nice and straight, that way when you go to straighten or curl your hair it’s much faster and easier.

 Next tool is the Chi Air Expert Classic Tourmaline Ceramic Flat Iron, in the color Pure Pink. In the description it says that; it produces exceptionally high amounts of negative ions and far infrared which reduces static for that perfect style, hair is left smooth and silky. this classic flat iron is ideal for all your hairstyle needs. With this straightener you can straighten, smooth, curl, wave, spiral, flip, and bend your hair. It took me a couple a tries to find the right flat iron. Hair stylist and YouTube beauty girls always mentioned the best straightener for certain types of hair. Though when I was younger I didn’t think there was anything wrong with a cheap drugstore flat iron until I got older. I decided to invest a little into a good flat iron, especially since that’s my main tool I use on my hair almost every day. I watched a lot of YouTube videos about straighteners, it was between a GHD Flat Iron or a Chi Flat Iron. I opted for the Chi, simply because I knew more people that used it and it was a little cheaper than the GHD. I never regretted buying my Chi flat iron, I use it all the time and it does everything I hoped for it to do.

 It’s time for my hair products, I went through a lot to find the perfect balance for my hair type. I don’t hate any of the products I used in the past, they just weren’t simply right for my hair. Basically everyone needs a Shampoo, Conditioner, and styling products, especially if heat is used on your hair. 

     The shampoo I’m currently using right now is Redken “Smooth Down”. The description for this shampoo states that; it gently cleanses and tames your hair to help provide a long lasting shine and frzz-free finish, a humidity and smoothing control and leaves your hair smooth, shiny and controlled. I’ve been using this shampoo for about 6 months and I haven’t found a problem with it yet. I plan to keep this shampoo in my hair routine for a very long time, maybe even forever.

The conditioner I’m currently using right now is Organix “Macadamia Oil”, I started using it because my local Target ran out of the Redken “All Soft” conditioner, which is what I was currently using. The description for this says; it drenches even the driest, most brittle hair with moisture, leaving it soft, supple, and touchable.This is an indulgent conditioner that bathes dry hair with a fusion of gentle conditioning macadamia oil and moisturizing bamboo extract, while sugar cane extract gives hair silky new life. I’ve used the Organix hair line in the past, I was a big fan of all the scents but couldn’t find a type good for my hair. When I saw the “Macadamia Oil” one it made me very intrigued, especially from the smell of it. I decided to give it a try and fell in love with it right away, it goes great with my Redken “Smooth Down” shampoo. It’s very hydrating and gives my hair less frizz. Like my Redken “Smooth Down” shampoo, I see this conditioner in my future hair routine for a very long time.

 My next and last products are for styling, it’s always good to find great styling products that aren’t too heavy or damaging to your hair. 

 First off is a heat protective spray, if you blow dry, straighten or curl your hair you need a heat protective product. Mine is Tresemme Thermal Creations Heat Tamer Spray. The description states that; it guards against heat and friction to keep your hair shiny and incredibly soft, is a great tool for instantly transforming all hair textures, enhancing strands’ flexibility to reform and hold shape and guards against heat styling damage and friction. I’ve been using this same product ever since I began straightening my hair, my hair has seemed to be less damaged with this product. But keep in mind that heat protective sprays don’t completely save your hair from heat, but help lessen the damage.

 My final styling product is Bed Head “After Party”. If you want your hair to smell amazing at all times I suggest using this product. And always remember that a little goes a long way. The description for this lovely smelling product is; it’s the perfect product for frizz prone friends, hair creme for silky, smooth, shiny, healthy looking hair. Control the funky fly-aways and silk-ify your hair. I think this is an all around good product, it works wonders on my hair. It smooths down those little baby hairs that frame your face and come up around your hairline. And it smells amazing, maybe that shouldn’t be the biggest selling point for a hair product, but it’s one of the reasons I even tried it out. If you love your hair to smell luxurious and fruity and need a good smoothing cream this is the best thing for you.
