Kat Von D: Lock-It Tattoo Foundation Review

Lately I’ve been getting bored of my everyday foundation; Maybelline: Fit Me Foundation. I wanted a foundation with a little more coverage, and that lasted longer than normal. When I got a Sephora order in the mail, I got a sample of Kat Von D: Lock-It Foundation in Light 48. I fell in love with it the minute I put it on!

As you can see, the packaging is pretty great, simple, pretty, and I love that it has a pump! So much easier to control the amount of product you get out.

What is says:

  1. Full Coverage

  2. 24- Hour Wear

  3. Transfer Resistant

  4. Matte Finish

  5. Fragrance Free

  6. Oil-Free

  7. For All Skin Types

What I think about the statements:

I definitely believe this foundation is full coverage, any redness you have will surely be covered without any extra concealing.

I don’t believe this foundation is full 24-hour wear. I noticed throughout the day my foundation looked faint, not as much coverage like when its first applied.

Most times when I have foundation on, and I go to wipe my mouth from eating, the foundation around my mouth transfers to the towel/napkin, this foundation doesn’t transfer in those moments. This is great!

All your shine will be removed with this foundation; I’m an oily/combination skin type, matte foundations typically can’t handle controlling my oil; this foundation does a great job at controlling it.

Often times when makeup has a fragrant it’s either very sweet smelling, or a unique chemical smell. Since this foundation doesn’t have a fragrance you have a better chance of not having any skin problems; breakouts, redness, allergic reactions. I can be very sensitive to most facial products, this foundation hasn’t caused any issues.

This foundation has a huge range of choices, 18 colors, ranging from Light, Medium, and Deep.

The price isn’t too bad either; $35.00. You can purchase this foundation from Sephora or Ulta.

Left Side: As you can see I have some redness on my cheeks, I have it on both cheeks and sometimes my nose. I’m not a big fan of the redness, all the foundations I’ve used before weren’t very good at fully covering my redness.

Right Side: You can see a significant amount of change from the picture on the left side. My blood vessels on my cheeks and almost all the redness is covered.

For the application I used Real Techniques: Stippling Brush, this type of brush allows you to have more control for the amount of foundation you apply to your skin.

I hope you enjoyed!
