Juvia's Place: Wahala 2 Palette Review
I'm ashamed to say I don't own many products from brands/companies owned and created by black creators/black community. I'm happy to say I have actively started investing in black owned companies, not just because I want to support the black community, but because the brands I've purchased are high quality and well worth the money. The palette I'm reviewing today is the second Juvia's Place palette I own. I have to stop myself from buying all of their palettes, because the pigmentation is out of this world.
My sister got me this palette for Christmas and I use it every time I wear makeup, which lets be honest is rare since the pandemic started. But! I always go to this palette, it may not be an "everyday palette" but I consider is a staple in my makeup routine. I really wanted to swatch all of the eye shadows, but there are so many! So I decided to pick the ones I really liked and wanted to showcase the amazing pigment of these particular shadows. I used a Swatch Perfect shadow stencil, and only applied Urban Decay: Primer Potion where I was going to place the eye shadows. This picture is taking in natural light outside, without any filters.
The eye shadow names are from left to right (descriptions are from the Juvia's Place website)
Too Much: A matte bright pink
Lust: A matte aqua
Dope: A reflective shimmery blue, with light blue reflects
Rage: A lavender and purple reflect
Periodt: A shimmery orange bronze
Gobe: A finely milled silver glitter
As you can see with the above swatches, these shadows are strong in pigmentation. I have used them over a white base and the color payoff is even better! If that's even possible haha. The eye shadows blend quite nice as well, and there isn't much fallout, except for with the super shimmery/glittery ones. But that's always to be expected with any palette/brand you use, don't let anyone fool you, all eye shadows have some kind of fallout, no matter how "high quality" the brand/product is. If you want to see swatches of specific shadows from this palette, I am more than happy to! Just let me know in the comments!
