Hello Body Skincare Journey
Lately my skin has been so frustrating. But I wanted to figure out my skincare on my own, and opt out of going to a dermatologist. Which, by the way, I see absolutely no issue going to a dermatologist, I just chose not to.
I have been using Clinique since I was in high school, and it worked for YEARS. But I just recently noticed my skin getting use to the product I was using and stop working. I don’t break out usually. But I get tiny bumps all over my face when my skin rejects a product. And small pimples if the reaction is really bad. So I decided to do something about it. I decided to change my skincare routine completely. Although I did keep 2 things in my skincare the same. But today I’m going to talk about the new products I added!
The pictures I’m about to show you are both sides of my face. This isn’t from my Clinique products, but I did notice SOME bumps before using this next product. So I just think my Clinique was giving up on my skin. The reaction on my skin is from a face mask my sister bought me from Target, it was a generic brand they have for Valentines Day, so I don’t remember the name. But it was raspberry and chocolate. It was suppose to help hydrate, and tighten my skin. My skin did feel hydrated. But omg…the next morning I felt so bad for my poor skin. To you it may not seem bad, but I’ve always had pretty good, clear skin. So any reaction is awful to me.
I’m hoping my skin will calm down and bounce back from the face mask I recently used. I literally just started my new skincare right after the bumps showed up, so I know it’s not from that. Thank god….because it’s expensive haha
So what new skincare goodies did I get!? Let’s get into it!
Hello Body: Coco Day- Daily Face Lotion
This daily face lotion is perfect for mornings and during the day, it’s nice and light and absorbs quickly. The only thing I do wish is that it came as an SPF as well.
° Helps to protect the skin barrier from external aggressors
° Made from sweet almond oil and coconut oil
° Contains moss peat extract, with purifying properties
° Delicious coconut smell, to start the day gently
Hello Body: Coco Smooth- Daily Eye Cream
I never really use eye creams, because honestly, it’s one less step I have to do. But I’m 26, which means it’s time to start preventing. Plus the bags under my eyes suck..
° Daily eye cream that leaves the area around your eyes smooth and soft
° The cream uses cedrus atlantica bark extract, which helps reduce dark circles, pigmentation and the appearance of eye bags
° Made with smoothing shea butter, milk thistle and moisturizing coconut oil
Hello Body: Coco Calm-Soothing Face Toner
Toners have always been in staple in my skincare routine. I love all the excess dirt and makeup that it removes after cleansing. It’s like one final clean swoop of my face. I also love that this is alcohol free. Because my skin HATES alcohol… It makes my skin so dry and irritated.
° Soothes, revitalizes and removes mask or makeup residue
° Rebalances the pH and hydration of the skin
° Contains coconut and calendula extracts, and aloe vera juice
Hello Body: Coco Soft- Night Face Lotion
My skin is super dry, always has been. Especially during the winter. This moisturizer is a little thicker than the daily one and absorbs quickly as well.
° Nourishing night cream for soothed and hydrated skin
° Formulated with shea butter, which smoothes the complexion and helps regulate pH
° Formulated with avocado oil, with moisturising properties
° Contains peat extract, which purifies your skin during your sleep
° Delicious coconut smell that fills your night with a delicate scent
My skin has always done really well with coconut skincare products, so that’s why I stuck with all the coconut products from Hello Body.
In about a month I’m going to update you all on how my skin is doing. It’s best to give your skin a chance to fully adapt to new skincare products.
-Im doing a little update within this post because 1. I have published it yet, and 2. I’ve decided to return the products.-
*******So what happened with this product line you ask? Well nothing bad…necessarily, and I know it’s only been about 2 weeks since I started using it, and you should really give your skin about a month to adapt to new skincare. But I’m impatient and my skin has ALWAYS quickly known whether it likes a product or not. My skin hasn’t improved at all in 2 weeks, from that skin you see in the pictures in the very beginning of this post. It’s also been dryer that has been in months. My Clinique might have stopped working in some aspects, but it always kept my skin well hydrated, especially during this winter weather. My skins been so dry that it feels itchy, it’s so frustrating. Which is exactly why I made the decision to return the skincare. I want a skincare catered to my skin type. Hello Body skincare products are targeting towards all skin types, which to me means it’s the most basic out there. And if you have specific skin concerns, then this product line might not be the best for you. If you’re lucky and have normal skin without much of any concerns then you’re more than likely to be able to use this skincare line without any issues!*******
-I wanted to touch base real quick about an experience I literally just had with this company. I decided to return the products, because who wants to keep skincare that they don’t like and that doesn’t work for them?! So I emailed them asking to return the products. And was unfortunately informed that I couldn’t return the products because I had opened the product and used them. I will admit this is partially my fault for failing to read their return policy before purchasing. But I believe ALL skincare companies should have a good return policy and allow opened products to be returned. Because you have NO clue how your skins going to react to new products, especially when using a new brand. So I just wanted you guys to see their return policy before making a decision to purchase from them. This is another reason why I love Ulta so much, you can return any and all skincare products, even opened and used. And you can even ask for samples to try about before making the purchase!-
