Edged Brown Smokey Eye

One of the easiest colors to work with my eye color is brown. And I’ve found that all of my brown shadows blend the easiest, perfect for creating easy, and simple smoky eyes with those colors. For this look I used a palette I haven’t used in a while: Urban Decay: Theodora Palette. It’s always refreshing when you use palettes that have been hiding in your makeup collection.

As always you need a primer! Keeps shadows lasting long, and helps them appear brighter and stronger in color. I used Urban Decay: Primer Potion in Sin.

Along with an eye primer, you want to apply a creamy shadow base, especially when it’s going to enhance the colors of your shadows. Since I’m going to apply brown eye shadows, I will be applying a bronze cream shadow. For this I used NYX: Jumbo Eye Pencil in Inced Mocha.

Before I apply any shadows, I’m going to take some tape, and place it right along my lower lash-line, positioning it slightly up, like a cat eye angle. This will help give your shadows a nice, clean edge.
It’s shadow time! For my lid, I applied Bewitched. This is a very nice, rich chocolate brown, with a small amount of shimmer. I applied this color all over my lid, and slightly blended it up, towards my crease.

For my transitioning color and blending color I used Beware, a very nice medium taupe. I applied it right along the edges of Bewitch, and into the crease.

Time to darken up the eyes. Taking a dome-shaped blending brush, apply West to the outer-v of your eye, and slightly into the crease. Keeping the tape intact, blend the shadow out, bringing it out along the tape.
You can now remove the tape, hopefully it turns out the way you wanted. Use a small shadow brush to add more color, if each eye isn’t even. Other then that, try resisting blending out the sharp edges, to keep that cat-eye look. Then apply a highlighter, for this I used Broken, a matte shadow, that’s close to my skin tone.

To lighten up the eyes, I wanted to highlight my inner-corner of my eye as well as the brow-bone. As always I used NYX: Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk. And with a small shadow brush, apply Broken right on top.

Time to line the lids! Taking your favorite liner, whether it’s a gel, liquid, or kohl pencil, line along your top lash-line. For this I used Urban Decay: 24/7 Velvet Glide- On Eye Pencil in Black Velvet. Make sure to also line both your top, and bottom water-line.

To finish off your eyes you want to add some mascara! For this look I used Urban Decay: Perversion Mascara.

And now the eyes are complete!

Don’t forget the rest of your face when creating a whole look! Just because your eyes have been perfected to your liking, doesn’t mean you don’t have to keep adding to your whole look. So I decided to add some pink lips to this look. Make sure your lips are well hydrated, and apply a lip liner, for this I used Starlooks: Lip Pencil in Tickle Me Pink.

To add on to the liner, I applied NYX: Lipstick in Sunflower.

And to add some gloss and shine, apply NYX: Butter Gloss in Creme Brulee.

Lips are now complete!

This is probably one of my favorite looks so far, hope you all enjoyed!
