Dramatic Winged Eyes!

Lately I’ve been inspired to continue doing more makeup looks on my blog! And this week I chose something a little more dramatic, something I wouldn’t usually wear on a regular basis.  Priming with my go-to eyelid primer; Too Faced: Shadow Insurance. Apply it all over the lid, up to the brow-bone, and along the lower lash-line (we will be adding eye shadow there later).

Next apply a sticky base to the lid, that will help intensify the eye shadows. For this I used NYX: Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk. Make sure to blend it slightly, that way the application is even, and not blotchy.

Before adding any eye shadows, you want to apply some tape, this will help control where the eye shadows stays on the lid, and the outer-corners. I used it mainly to help create a strong winged effect with my eye shadow.

Now we can start applying our eye shadows. From the Tartelette palette take Super Mom. Apply it all over the lid, and up to the brow-bone. The color is very close to my skin-tone, so taking a picture and getting full color pay-off was difficult.  Next you want to start adding dimension and more color to the eyes. Using a fluffy crease brush, gradually apply Best Friend to the crease, and blend it outward, toward the tape.

With the same fluffy crease brush, take Bombshell and very lightly apply it to the crease, just as you did with Best Friend. This will help darken the look enough to slowly introduce the darkest color of this eye look.

It’s time to start adding the winged effect to this look. Taking a small flat shading brush, and apply Fashionista to the very inner crease, and right along the tape, connected slightly along the upper lash-line. And then you can remove the tape gently.

Taking that same small flat shading brush, apply Fashionista along the lower lash-line.

To add a little brightness to the look, apply NYX: Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk to the inner corner of your eyes.

Make sure to blend it out a little!  To enhance the inner corner even more, take a small pencil brush and apply a shimmery white eye shadow (I used the lightest beige color in the BH Cosmetics: Wild & Free palette)

Now we’re gonna start finishing up the look. Liquid liner is my go to, apply the liner all the way along the shadow, winging it out.

To continue with eyeliner, apply Urban Decay: 24/7 Eyeliner in Zero to your water-line, and you can tight-line if it’s comfortable (that is the upper water-line)

Now for the more tricky part of this look, Lashes! If you aren’t comfortable applying them, you can just apply extra mascara. There’s also tones of YouTube videos on how to apply lashes properly if you’re interested in adding them. For my lashes I used Ardell Lashes # 110.

Choosing the right lash glue is key for application, if you’re allergic to latex, make sure to found a lash-glue that’s safe for you. For me I used Duo: Lash Glue. Make sure to apply a thin line of glue to the band of the lashes, let the glue dry enough to get tacky, 40 seconds will probably work. Apply the lashes, first to the middle of your lash-line, and pull gently each corner down, squeeze your lashes to the false lashes to help them conjoin.

Let the glue dry completely before continuing working on your eyes. After the lash glue has dried, apply another coat of liquid liner, this will help mask the band of the lashes. and bind the lashes together using a lash curler.

Finish up the eyes by applying mascara to the lower lash-line. For this I used CoverGirl: Lash Blast Volume in Very Black. This mascara works perfectly for lower lash-lines because the bristles are very small.

Your eyes are now complete!

To glam up this look, you can add a perfect glossy red lip!  Taking Starlooks: Lip Pencil in Tickle Me Pink and line your lips, and fill in your lips as well.

Next apply over that: Urban Decay: Super Saturated High Gloss Lip Color in Theodora.

You can leave it like this, or add some gloss. I chose to add a lip gloss to the top. I used Mac: Lusterglasss in  Wonderstruck.

And now your whole winged look is complete!

Hope you enjoyed!
