Bubble Mask Review

     The whole “bubble mask” phase has been huge lately….granted I’m a little late to the game. But hey, I’m here now! I was walking around Walmart, and of course had to stop when I saw they had a display full of 2 for $5 masks, so obviously I had to buy some. And so I picked up two bubble masks, one for me and my sister. I thought it was would a fun little review, so let’s get into the nitty-gritty of things!

Soo Ae: Charcoal Clay Bubble Mask

This mask is said to;

  1. Lift away impurities

  2. Refine Pores

  3. Remove dead skin cells

Main ingredients;

  1. Grape extract

  2. Orange extract

  3. Apply extract

  4. Lime extract

  5. Lemon extract

You can apply this mask to dry or dampened skin. Make sure to cleanse your skin first! Masks have a way of pushing product into skin, which is why a lot of times it’s best to apply serums first and then masks.

I tried to get a picture of the mask after it was first applied, but it bubbled too fast! I’ve noticed in many reviews it takes a little more time with other brands to bubble.

after 5 minutes

This is after five minutes of wearing the mask. It was so weird! Felt like I was straight up wearing foam on my face.

   I am definitely one for leaving a mask on longer than normal, because I love the luxuriousness! But this mask didn’t have the same affect. I felt a lot of tingling; which I’ve felt before with masks, but this was too much for me. And warmth from the tingle. It wasn’t very comfortable, so I removed the mask right away.

mask being rubbed in

When your face is in full force bubble-mode, that’s when you start working the mask into your skin, revealing more of the mud part of the mask.

mask washed off

   I’m not sure if you can see in this picture, but there was quite a bit of redness around my nose and cheeks. I do have slightly sensitive skin, but I have used quite abrasive masks before and never had this reaction. I don’t think this mask is for me, but I’m willing to try other brands of the “bubble mask” just to see a difference.

Pro’s:

Decently priced

Fun to try

Shrunk appearance of pores

Con’s:

χ Not for super sensitive skin types

χ Tingling

χ Redness

χ Difficult to wash off

*All in all, I don’t see myself repurchasing this mask, I hope it’s good for others. Just not for me!
