Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay Review

Little backstory real quick; when I first started working at Target we didn’t carry this product. But literally the second we added it to our stores inventory, people WENT APE SHIT (sorry not sorry for the language). I would stock about 6-7 of these tubs on the shelves, and literally an hour or so would go by, and poof…they’d be gone! I didn’t know if it was just one of the in fashion products you needed to buy just because everyone else was buying it too. But I just went on with life and didn’t care to purchase it…..

So now here we are today, to be fair, I didn’t purchase it! Haha, my sister read all the reviews on it and decided to buy it herself and give it a shot. So of course I had to try it too! And I’m going to say this right at the beginning of this post, this product is AMAZING!

  1. Deep Pore Cleaning

This product is 100% Natural Calcium Bentonite Clay from Death Valley, California. Nothing extra is added, no secret little ingredients you should have to worry about! It’s fragrance free, and sun-dried for about 6 months.

I have super sensitive skin and super dry skin. This clay product is MOSTLY meant for oilier skin types, that are more acne prone. But I wanted to give it a shot for all the people out there with dry skin, that don’t have much of an acne problem. So I tried it, and the results were positive.

If you are prone to acne or even have acne at the moment, I would suggest the Apple Cider Vinegar mix. If you have more normal skin, then water will be just fine.

Regardless of what you choose, make sure it’s equal parts water/vinegar and the powder. If you use water the consistency will be a little bit thicker. If you use the vinegar the consistency will mix a little better and be thinner/smoother.

(1 part clay, 1 part water)

An important thing to remember is… NO METAL. Do not use a metal bowl, spoon, spatula.. It’ll cause a negative charge….although I read somewhere that that’s incorrect. So you can be the judge of what material you want to use when mixing and using the actual product.

Now that everything’s all mixed together into a nice thick paste, slather it all over that beautiful face of yours! It’s gonna be weird, and cold and goopy…but that’s exactly what you want.

Now is says for sensitive skin to only leave it on your face for about 5 minutes, and for more normal skin 15-20 minutes. I personally don’t believe a mask will do much in only 5 minutes, so I left in on for 10 minutes.

Your skin will instantly begin to tighten as the mask dries…I felt like a stone statue! I just couldn’t move any facial muscles. I didn’t feel any tingling, but a weird pulling sensation, which means the mask is working on pulling out all of your skins impurities!

Slowly remove the mask with warm water, avoid scrubbing and picking off the mask.. because that’ll cause more irritation. A lot of reviewers, and even the packing mentions that you’ll notice redness for about 30 minutes, I already have red skin, and I’m going to be completely honest with you. After I removed the mask, my skin wasn’t red! I don’t know if that’s common or not, but man did it make me happy. When you’re already red, and prepared to be more red….that’s annoying. I’m so happy for the outcome I got. My skin felt softer, smoother. I failed and didn’t take a picture after the mask was off…oh well. You’ll just have to trust that I had beautiful non red skin! Even the next day My skin was still less red, and still soooooo soft!

*Side note: The packaging says this tubs makes 10-15 facials, I’m telling you right now, you only need about 1 tablespoon to make a face mask, so I’m fairly certain you’ll get way more than 15 facials out of this tub.
