Ardell Individual Lashes
Lately I’ve been on a “Lashes Kick”, I just feel like I want to vamp-up my regular makeup looks. And I have come to the conclusion that the best way to add a subtle depth to your look, is to use individual false lashes. They are perfect for extending your eye, they pair well if you’re planning on adding wing eyeliner to your look.
The ones I’ve been loving and using at the moment are the: Ardell Individual Lashes-Flare Medium Black.
I was always fearful of lashes, mainly because I didn’t want to put them on wrong, or have them fall off in the middle of the day. But just sucking it up and trying it out a few times helped me realize that applying false lashes is easy. It takes a few extra minutes to get the lashes just right, but time is beauty…
The best glue to use for applying false lashes is Duo Lash Glue.
I find that this particular lash glue dries very nice, and clear. And a lot goes a long way, so I know I will have my lash glue for a good amount of time.
There are a few techniques with applying lashes, whether its individual or band lashes. They do sell special lash applicators, they’re basically strange looking tweezers. I prefer to use my fingers, that way I can feel where exactly I’m putting them, and I can squeeze my lashes together with the false ones without accidentally poking myself in the eye with a metal object.
This is what a lash applicator looks like.
The Ardell Individual lashes: Flare Medium length’s are the perfect matching-color and length for my natural lashes. They blend in very well, especially after applying mascara. Since they are individual, they are more delicate then strip lashes, so I wouldn’t suggest curling them. I tried curling the lashes to help them blend, but since they are too delicate, they curled more than my natural lashes did. And that didn’t look very good.
If you’re looking to try out false lashes for the first time, I suggest individual ones, perfect for slowly adding depth to any makeup look. And after you’ve felt that you have accomplished applying individual lashes, you can move towards strip lashes. Or go straight for strip lashes, it’s all up to you, and how comfortable you feel. Besides that, remember makeup is an art, there really aren’t any wrongs in makeup. There will always be “do’s” and “don’ts”, but makeup is something I feel like every girl and even guys will keeping learning about throughout the years.
In this picture you can clearly see that the end lashes are longer than the others, that’s the placement of the individual lashes. In person it is a lot less noticeable, but for pictures I wanted you all to be able to see the difference.
